SUPPLEMENTAL SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> California Department of Transportation <br /> Shop 10 Maintenance Facility <br /> 1603 South B Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> July 13, 1992 <br /> 1. 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) retained <br /> Alton Geoscience to perform a supplemental site investigation at <br /> the Shop 10 Maintenance Facility, 1603 South B Street, Stockton, <br /> California. A brief description of site location and past <br /> activities is presented below. A site vicinity map is shown in <br /> Figure 1 and a site plan in Figure 2 . <br /> 1. 1 Site Description <br /> Caltrans Shop 10 Facility is located across the street, to the <br /> west of the Caltrans Stockton Maintenance Facility and south of <br /> the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. other properties ad3acent to <br /> the site are primarily commercial and residential developments. <br /> . The site is situated at an approximate elevation of 21 feet above <br /> mean sea level (msl) , as shown in Figure 1, Site Vicinity Map. <br /> Mormon Slough, the nearest surface body of water in the area, is <br /> located approximately 1, 000 feet north of the site. Duck Creek <br /> is approximately 1-1/2 miles south of the site. A summary of the <br /> project background is presented in Appendix A. <br /> 2 , 0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> This supplemental site investigation was conducted to: <br /> 1. Assess the nature and extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in <br /> the subsurface soil and the ground water detected during the <br /> tank removal operations. <br /> 2 . Provide appropriate recommendations regarding additional <br /> investigation and/or remediation in accordance with the <br /> requirements of the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Department (SJCPHD) and the California Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (RWQCB) . <br /> 1 <br />
