3 .2 Water Monitoring Well Construction
The monitoring wells were constructed as outlined below. Well
construction details are included in Appendix D, and well
installation procedures are presented in Appendix E.
The screened intervals of the three monitoring wells are as
follows:
Approximate Approximate Screen
Well Casing Diameter, Total Depth Interval
Number (Ynches f bcr (f ba)
MW-10 4 75 35 to 75
MW--11. 4 78 63 to 78
MW-12 4 78 63 to 78
Monitoring Well MW-10 was screened 25 feet higher to serve as a _
dual ground water monitoring/recovery well and a vapor extraction
well.
3 . 3 Well Development, Monitoring, and Sampling
The monitoring wells were developed on April 6, 1992 by removing
10 casing volumes of water and until stabilization of pH,
temperature, and conductivity parameters.
MW-10, MW-11, and MW-12 were monitored and sampled on
April 7 , 1992 . Water levels in each well were measured to the
nearest 0. 01 foot from the top of the PVC casing using an
electronic sounder. A ground water elevation contour map, based
on interpretation of ground water level and survey data, is shown
in Figure 3 .
Survey data and water level measurements are summarized in
Table 2 . General field procedures for well development and
sampling, and field survey forms are presented in Appendix F.
4. 0 ANALYTICAL METHODS
Laboratory analysis was performed by Sequoia Analytical, a
California-certified laboratory. Analytical methods, off ictal
laboratory reports, and chain of custody records are presented in
Appendix F. Chemical analysis of soil and ground water samples
as performed using standard test methods of the United States
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Californi-a
Department of Health Services (Cal--DHS) , as discussed below.
3
i
