' California Department of Transportation July 7, 1994 <br /> Protect No 102818-01 <br /> Soil samples collected from the two stockpiles did not contain detectable concentrations of <br /> TPH as gasolin The soil samples contained concentrations of toluene ranging from 115 <br /> micrograms p } k I {µ g) to 250 µg/kg, but did not contain concentrations of <br /> benzene, ethylbenz e e their respective detection limits Total lead was <br /> detected in both of the soil ples anging in concentration from 4 67 milligrams per <br /> kilogram (mg/kg) to 30 7 mg/kg A summary of the results of the soil analysis is presented <br /> as Table 3 The laboratory analytical report, including Quality control/quality assurance data <br /> and chain of custody documentation, is presented in Appendix C <br /> CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based upon the results of this study, the following conclusions and recommendations are <br /> offered <br /> ° Groundwater is present at the site at an approximate depth of 65 feet bgs The <br />' groundwater flow direction is estimated to be toward the north at an approximate <br /> gradient of 0 0033 feet per foot <br /> ° The results of the groundwater sampling and analysis program indicate concentrations <br /> of TPH as gasoline ranging from less than the detection limit to 2,570 ag/e Elevated <br /> t concentrations of BTEX were also detected in groundwater samples collected TPH as <br /> diesel was not detected in concentrations greater than the detection limit in any of the <br /> groundwater samples collected <br /> ° The results of the soil stockpile sampling and analysis program indicate that TPH as <br /> gasoline was not detected Benzene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were also not detected <br /> t in the soil stockpiles Elevated concentrations of toluene were detected, and total lead <br />' concentrations ranged from 4 67 mg/kg to 30 7 mg/kg <br /> It is recommended that the purge water stored in the 55-gallon drums and the soil <br /> stockpiles stored on Visqueen at the site be disposed of at an appropriate facility in <br /> accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laves and regulations <br /> ° It is recommended that a copy of this report be submitted to the following agency <br /> San Joaquin ui y, blit Health Services <br /> Environmen lie iv on <br /> 445 North San Joaqui t <br /> Stockton, Califorrua 9 01 <br /> Attention Mr Michael M Co lens <br /> 6 ���D�d11&ffi, r <br />
