' California Department of Transportation July 7, 1994 Protect No 102818-01 Soil samples collected from the two stockpiles did not contain detectable concentrations of TPH as gasolin The soil samples contained concentrations of toluene ranging from 115 micrograms p } k I {µ g) to 250 µg/kg, but did not contain concentrations of benzene, ethylbenz e e their respective detection limits Total lead was detected in both of the soil ples anging in concentration from 4 67 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) to 30 7 mg/kg A summary of the results of the soil analysis is presented as Table 3 The laboratory analytical report, including Quality control/quality assurance data and chain of custody documentation, is presented in Appendix C CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Based upon the results of this study, the following conclusions and recommendations are offered ° Groundwater is present at the site at an approximate depth of 65 feet bgs The ' groundwater flow direction is estimated to be toward the north at an approximate gradient of 0 0033 feet per foot ° The results of the groundwater sampling and analysis program indicate concentrations of TPH as gasoline ranging from less than the detection limit to 2,570 ag/e Elevated t concentrations of BTEX were also detected in groundwater samples collected TPH as diesel was not detected in concentrations greater than the detection limit in any of the groundwater samples collected ° The results of the soil stockpile sampling and analysis program indicate that TPH as gasoline was not detected Benzene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were also not detected t in the soil stockpiles Elevated concentrations of toluene were detected, and total lead ' concentrations ranged from 4 67 mg/kg to 30 7 mg/kg It is recommended that the purge water stored in the 55-gallon drums and the soil stockpiles stored on Visqueen at the site be disposed of at an appropriate facility in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laves and regulations ° It is recommended that a copy of this report be submitted to the following agency San Joaquin ui y, blit Health Services Environmen lie iv on 445 North San Joaqui t Stockton, Califorrua 9 01 Attention Mr Michael M Co lens 6 ��D�d11&ffi, r
