(Geocon) and has the following
comments.
The Report documents routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling activities
conducted at this site in January 2008. In the Report, Geocon recommends either a
change in the monitoring frequency of three of the onsite groundwater monitoring wells,
MW-7, MW-8 and MW-9, or that the wells be destroyed. This recommendation is based
on the absence of reported detections of contamination in the samples from these wells.
The EHD agrees that the subject wells do not need to be sampled on a quarterly basis
and approves conducting annual sampling. The wells should continue to be monitored
quarterly for depth to groundwater for use in groundwater elevation and flow direction
calculations. The EHD does not approve the destruction of the wells at this time. In
correspondence dated June 3, 2002, the EHD directed submittal of a site conceptual
model (SCM) for this site including maps and cross-sections depicting the site geology
and plume, and a revised calculation of contaminant mass remaining at the site. Please
proceed with preparation of a SCM for this site and submit it to EHD by August 1, 2008.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely, COPT
FILE
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
