• i <br /> • Project No 58100-06-IIA <br /> March 15, 1995 <br /> Page 4 <br /> will be capped, labeled, chilled, and transported to Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL), <br /> a California-certified environmental laboratory utilizing standard chain-of-custody procedures <br /> Submit selected soil samples for the analyses of TPHg and TPHd following EPA Test Method <br /> 8015 modified and BTEX following EPA Test Method 8020 <br /> Perform headspace surveys on the soil samples collected using a portable organic vapor analyzer <br /> (OVA), equipped with a photo ionization detector (PID) or flame ionization detector (FID) <br /> Headspace readings represent qualitative indicators of the presence of organic vapors in the pore <br /> space of the soil samples collected The headspace readings will be recorded on the boring logs <br /> submitted with the final report <br /> Onsite soil generated during the boring activities will be collected in 55-gallon drums and stored <br /> onsite for disposal following regulatory protocol <br /> Provide quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) procedures during the field activities These <br /> procedures will include cleansing/rinsing of the sampling equipment prior to each sampling effort, <br /> the cleansing/rinsing of the drill rig augers prior to and between borings and providing chain-of- <br /> custody documentation for each sample collected and transferred to the laboratory for analytical <br /> testing <br /> All drilling, sampling, and related activities will be conducted under the supervision of a Certified <br /> Engineering Geologist or a Registered Geologist who shall act as the Task Order Manager and <br /> will be responsible for signing the final boring logs <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Wells <br /> Install groundwater monitoring wells MW-4 through MW-9 at the locations shown on Figure 2 <br /> The groundwater monitoring wells will be constructed using 4-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride <br /> (PVC) casing The lower portion of the wells will be constructed using 15 feet of 0 020-inch <br /> slotted screen PVC casing A filter pack consisting of No 3 monterey sand will be placed around <br /> the screen from the bottom of the boring to an elevation of two feet above the screen zone The <br /> lower portion of MW-9 will be constructed using approximately 58 feet of 0 10-inch slotted screen <br /> PVC casing between depths of approximately 17 to 75 feet bgs A filter pack consisting of pea <br /> gravel will be placed around the screen from the bottom of the boring to an elevation of one foot <br /> above the screen zone <br /> A surge block and intermittent groundwater extraction will be performed to densify the sand pack <br /> and to remove sediment prior to placement of a two foot thick seal consisting of hydrated <br /> . bentonite chips Above the seal a mixture of bentonite powder and cement will be placed to <br />
