s 5
The screened intervals of the three wells are as follows:
Well Casing Diameter Approximate Approximate Screen
Number (inches)- Total Depth Interval
FBG FBG
MW-1 4 78 63-78
MW-2 4 78 63-78
MW-3 4 78 63-78
3 . 3 Well Development, Monitoring, and Sampling
Monitoring Wells MW-1 through MW-3 were developed on
April 3 , 1992 , by removing 10 casing volumes of water and until
stabilization of pH, temperature, and conductivity parameters.
The wells were monitored and sampled on April 6 , 1992 . Water
levels in each well were measured to the nearest 0. 01 foot from
the top of the PVC casing using an electronic sounder. A ground
water elevation contour map based on interpretation of ground -
water level and survey data (Table 1) is shown in Figure 3 .
Prior to sampling, 3 casing volumes of water were removed from
the wells and stabilization of pH, temperature, and conductivity
was achieved. General field procedures for well development and
sampling and field survey forms are presented in Appendix F.
. Water samples were collected using a disposable bailer,
transf arred into clean glass containers, and transported in an
iced cooler to a California-certified laboratory for analysis.
Well development and sampling procedures were conducted in
accordance with RWQCB guidelines and SJCPHD requirements.
4. 0 ANALYTICAL METHODS
Laboratory analysis was performed by Sequoia Analytical, a
California-certified laboratory. Analysis of soil and ground
water amples was performed using standard test methods of the
United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the
California Department of Health Services (Cal-DHS) , as discussed
below.
4 . 1 Analysis of Soil and Ground Water Samples
Soil and ground water samples were analyzed for the following:
* TPH-G using EPA Methods 5030 and 8015G
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)
using EPA Methods 5030 and 8020
. e TPH-D using EPA Methods 5030 and 8015D
3
