(Discharger)
Flag City New West Station No. 1003 Project. The Discharger is requesting General Order
coverage for the discharge of treated groundwater to surface waters from a petroleum
groundwater remediation project. The discharge is proposed into White Slough (Delta
waters), an impacted waterbody on the Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 303(d) list for the
following constituents:
• Chlorpyrifos
• DDT
• Diazinon
• Mercury
• Group A Pesticides
• Organic Enrichment/ Low Dissolved Oxygen
• Unknown toxicity
The laboratory monitoring information included in the RWD indicates the following results:
• Group A pesticides and nutrients concentrations (nitrate, sulfate, phosphorus) in the
groundwater are lower than the applicable surface water quality criteria;
• Chlorpyrifos, DDT and Diazinon were not detected using a laboratory reporting level
lower than applicable water quality criteria, and
• Electrical conductivity in the groundwater is approximately 980 µmhos/cm, an
acceptable concentration for a short-term discharge to Delta waters.
California Environmental Protection Agency
ped Recycled Paper
