Jim is the P.G. <br /> assigned to the Chevron Station just south of your New West site, and the CVRWQCB is the lead <br /> agency for ground water investigation at that site. <br /> Recent ground water monitoring well installations north of the Chevron site, on the McDonald's <br /> site, and in the 'roadway'/on your site (Banner Way) have shown that MtBE appears to be emanating <br /> from the New West site, traveling south (down-gradient) and decreasing in concentration thru the <br /> McDonald's parking lot and impacting Chevron's most northerly (up-gradient) monitoring well, "MW-8". <br /> Based on this data and the CVRWQCB conclusion, SJ County will be issuing an Unauthorized Release <br /> Form (URF) to the State Water Resources Control Board for your site. I will also be sending you a <br /> certified letter notifying New West that you are to investigate and determine the lateral and vertical <br /> extents of the ground water plume and evaluate if there is a need of remediation. SJ County Local <br /> Oversight Program (LOP) will be the lead agency for your investigation/remediation and I will be the <br /> officer assigned to your site. If you have any LOP questions, you may contact me. <br /> Questions about the letter should be directed to James Barton at the number listed on his letter. <br /> Please provide me with this station's address and company/station ID #.
