A
plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
This work plan is prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for the procurement of a soil boring permit. The
investigation is being performed to determine if an impact occurred as a result of the former
operation of an underground storage tank(UST).Therefore, the work plan is prepared in accordance
with Appendix A to Tri-Regional Recommendations -Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared
by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Appendix A - Reports) for the
investigation of UST sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located in an agricultural area of Tracy, California, at 26457 South Banta Road. (Figure
1). A small single story office, metal shed and pole barn(Figure 2)presently occupy the property.
2.1. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
According to research performed by representatives of AGE, one 500-gallon gasoline UST was
removed from the site sometime between 1968 and 1972. San Joaquin County PHS-EHD and
assessors office have no record of the UST removal; there is no indication that soil and/or ground
water samples were collected beneath the USTs at the time of removal. The former location of the
UST is illustrated on Figure 2.
2.2. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
Based on the San Joaquin County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District Lines of
Equal Depth of Water Wells Fall 1998 map, the estimated depth to ground water in the vicinity of
the site is 15 to 25 feet below surface grade (bsg).
Based upon data obtained from nearby sites, the prevailing ground water flow direction in the
vicinity of the site is estimated to be northwest. However, flow direction may be both locally and
seasonably variable.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
