•
22 August 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 00-0746
Page 3 of 5
Field procedures for advancement of probe borings and collection of soil samples are presented in
Sections 4.1 and 4.2. Selected soil samples from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory
analysis with concurrence of the PHS-EHD. The selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State
of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following
constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPH-g), diesel(TPH-d), and motor oil(TPH-mo)
by EPA Method 8015 Modified/3550;
• Volatile aromatic compounds(benzene,toluene, ethyl-benzene and total xylene: BTEX),by
EPA Method 8020 and.
Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations.
3.3. GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Grab ground water samples will be collected if ground water is encountered during the boring
process using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly. Samples will be collected into 40-m1 volatile
organic analysis (VOA)vials and into 1-liter amber bottles as appropriate for the required analyses.
Ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section 4.3. Ground water samples will
be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for:
• TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Method 8015M/3550;
• BTEX by EPA Method 8020 and
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses,testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations.
3.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions, applicable recommendations and
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
