M. Scott Mansholt 2 - 21 November 2007
Chevron-Former Lyoth Loao g Station
• Depth to water, between 13 and 17 feet (elevation — 60.5 to 61.6-feet) with a north-
northeast gradient and are consistent with prior information.
SAIC recommended the following:
• Inspect/replace the MW-2 oleophilic sock at the same time annual groundwater
monitoring and sampling are conducted; return the well to sampling once the TPH
sheen has been removed; and,
• Since only low concentrations for part of the PAH constituents at or slightly over
respective MDLs are detected, discontinue PAH analysis.
Based on our review we have the following comments:
• Information regarding oleophilic sock change out should be documented in the table
describing separate phase product removal; and,
• At any time a site(s) where groundwater monitoring is conducted and problems arise
that prohibit access/sampling, the issues must be addressed immediately so samples
are obtained for that event.
Regional Water Board staff concurs with the changes recommend in SAIC's report provided
our comments outlined above are addressed.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
_4)' e a,a, qk
SHELTON R.
