-- --------- - - =
Wendy L. Cohen -2- 29 September 1993
On 3 July 1991, a ground water sample was collected from MW-2 and analyzed for TPH-D and
BTEX. The sampled contained TPH-D at 440 ppm and ethylbenzene and xylenes at 0.019 ppm and
0.066 ppm, respectively.
On 9 March 1992, both MW-1 and MW-2 were sampled and analyzed only for BTEX. None of
these compounds were detected in MW-1. The sample from MW-2 contained ethylbenzene and
xylenes at concentrations of 0.024 ppm and 0.018 ppm, respectively.
The ground water is contaminated at this site. It has been over a year and a half since Chevron has
done anything on this site. A complete characterization of the lateral and vertical extent of the
contamination in the soil and the ground water needs to be completed and a remediation plan
proposed.
DEJ:gs
