BECKMAN STREET
LOD19 CALIFORNIA
1.0
This report premnts a summary of all soil and groundwater investigations conducted at the San
Joaquin Cotmry Mosquito and Vector Conrol District (&FCMVCD) fatty at 200 Nofth
Becknm Street in Lodi, California. The details of each of these investigations has been
preaenjied in previous rgmm. The summary will be used by Roy P. Weston (WESTON) to
develop a Corrective Action Plan for residual petroleum impacted sail at the site.
2.6 1986-198'f Invesltgatinn
In 1996, the SJCMVCD moved *= underground storage tanlo (UM) from the site and
voted soil ber"h the gasWine UST to a depth of 31 feet below gmund surface (bgs). A
soul and ,groundwater investigation oonducted by Weiss Associates on behalf of the SJCMVCD
in 1987 consisted of completion of six soil Dings and the installation of three groundwater
monitor wdls (MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3) to a depth of approximately SO feet [See Figure 0.
The soil and groundwater anaiytice msults from the 1986 tank removals and additional
investigations completed in 1987 acre included in Tables 1 aid 2. Soil and groundwater=nplo
were aWynd far total fuel hydrocarbons ('rMC), bmme, toluene, ethylbo uene, xylene
(BTEx), and lead. While the inveapgapan identified the presence of petraleum hydrocarbon
compounds in soil to a depth of 31 ft. bgs. beneath the location of the former gasoline UST,
petroleum hydrocarbon oxnpourWs were not detected is groundwater samples from the tbree
monitor w eUs. Analytical data from soil samples collected from boring locations B-3 and B-4,
as weU as Organic Vapor Analy=data from MW-2 soils were non-detect for BTEX and TMC
m fire 41 U. depth.
Note that fuel contaminated mils associated with dm former USTs have been removed to a depth
of 31 feet below grade, therefore, the shaded results in'fable 1 are for soils tMt are no longer
p mzent at the site.
3.0
WESTON began a quarterly groundwater monitoring pnagmm on behalf of the SJCMVCD in
December 1991. Only one of the three existing monitor wells at the site was found to have
enough water to sample in December 1991_ Consequently, the Elite requested that an additional
1
