SOIL-GAS INVESTIGATION WORKPLAN
200 North Beckman Road
Lodi, San Joaquin County, California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Workplan has been prepared by ALFA Environmental Remediation Services,
Inc. (ALFA) on behalf of Mr. Jason Desalvatore.
Three exploratory soil borings were drilled on June 19, 2015 to determine if any
hydraulic oil and/or PCBs exist in the hydraulic lift area or in the former vehicle
service area.
Two soil-gas borings will be drilled, samples collected and analyzed to determine if
any Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) exist in the former vehicle service area
where PCE solvents were likely used.
Prior to conducting field activities, a Health and Safety Plan (HASP) will be prepared
for the proposed field sampling activities. Prior to conducting field activities,
Woodward Drilling Co., Inc. (Woodward) will conduct a site visit to mark the direct-
push sampling locations as required by Underground Service Alert for underground
utility identification. Prior to conducting field activities, a drilling permit will be
obtained from the San Joaquin County.
TASK 1 - SOIL SAMPLING - COMPLETED ON JUNE 19, 2015
The soil boring locations and their designations are presented on the attached
Figure.
On June 19, 2015, borings were advanced using Geoprobe°/Hydro-punch direct
push equipment. All samples were logged by a California-Registered Professional
Geologist (PG #7503) using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) per
American Society for Testing and Material (ASTM) method D-2488. A 2-3/8-inch
diameter dual-tube sampling rod was hydraulically advanced to collect continuous
in-situ soil samples. The sample rod, with a clear polyvinyl chloride (PVC) liner
• •
