Soil <br /> samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals starting at 20 ft bgs Soil samples will be collected <br /> with a split spoon sampler lined with brass sleeves All samples will be screened in the field <br /> using a photoiomzation detector (PID) Four soil samples will be submitted for laboratory <br /> analysis Samples submitted for analysis will be chosen based on PID, visual, and olfactory <br /> observations <br /> The brass liners containing samples for chemical analysis will be capped with Teflon' sheeting <br /> and plastic caps The samples will be placed in plastic bags and stored on ice at a temperature <br /> of approximately 4°C for transport to an analytical laboratory A thermometer will be kept in <br /> the cooler with the samples The remaining soil will be described following the Unified Soil <br /> Classification System (USCS) under the direction of a California Registered Geologist <br /> The monitor well will be constructed of 2-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing. A 20-foot <br /> section of 0 010-inch slotted PVC screen will be used The screen will extend approximately <br /> L VNo_oct.4.ugogV.lc_t eLwp 2 <br />
