Soil
samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals starting at 20 ft bgs Soil samples will be collected
with a split spoon sampler lined with brass sleeves All samples will be screened in the field
using a photoiomzation detector (PID) Four soil samples will be submitted for laboratory
analysis Samples submitted for analysis will be chosen based on PID, visual, and olfactory
observations
The brass liners containing samples for chemical analysis will be capped with Teflon' sheeting
and plastic caps The samples will be placed in plastic bags and stored on ice at a temperature
of approximately 4°C for transport to an analytical laboratory A thermometer will be kept in
the cooler with the samples The remaining soil will be described following the Unified Soil
Classification System (USCS) under the direction of a California Registered Geologist
The monitor well will be constructed of 2-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing. A 20-foot
section of 0 010-inch slotted PVC screen will be used The screen will extend approximately
L VNo_oct.4.ugogV.lc_t eLwp 2
