lie <br /> uRN.GEPG F$^..4ER$LChS.,..NF$ <br /> Soil samples will be collected using brass tubes, which will be capped with Teflon sheeting and <br /> end caps to minimize volatilization of materials present in the sample All sampling equipment <br /> will be properly decontaminated with an Alconox and potable water mixture, followed by a <br /> potable water rinse, and finally rinsed with distilled water. <br /> Chain of Custodyrecords will be maintained from sample collection to laboratory receipt for all <br /> P rY <br /> samples collected. Samples will be placed in a cooler with ice immediately following sample <br /> collection The samples will be cooled to 4°C until sample analysis <br /> I5.3 SOIL AND LIQUID WASTE HANDLING. STORAGE. AND DISPOSAL <br />' The liquids removed from the USTs or generated from decontamination activities will be <br /> properly containerized and transported by a disposal contractor to an appropriate off-site <br /> recycling or disposal facility, under appropriate manifest, in accordance with Federal and State <br /> regulations. <br /> All potentially impacted soil will be screened with a flame ionization detector (FID) Soil with <br /> FID readings less than 50 units will be stockpiled separately from soil with FID readings greater <br /> 10 than 50 units All soil removed from the excavations will be stored on and covered with plastic <br /> sheeting The plastic sheeting will be secured to keep it in place. <br /> Composite sample(s) will be collected from the potentially contaminated soil pile at the rate of <br /> one four point composite sample for every 100 cubic yards of soil excavated. The results of the <br /> analysis will be used to identify an appropriate disposal facility, or as an alternative, to guide <br /> an on-site surface bioremediation of the soil All contaminated soil will be transported from the <br /> site by a disposal contractor under appropriate manifest in accordance with federal and state <br /> regulations. <br /> 6.0 UST REMOVAL PLAN <br /> This section outlines the necessary requirements and procedures for UST removal at the subject <br /> site The scope of work includes the removal and disposal of USTs and associated fill ports, <br /> vent lines, pumps, anchoring slabs, and piping One of the USTs is a 1,000 gallon unleaded <br /> gasoline tank and the other is a 6,000 gallon weed oil tank Any fluids contained in the storage <br /> tanks will be removed and recycled at an appropriate facility.
