Field screening with the FID will be performed on soil <br /> excavated from this location beginning 15 ft bgs and continuing to 40 ft bgs <br /> Segregation of excavated soil will follow procedures outlined in subsection 5 3 Once the limits <br /> of the excavation have been reached, confirmation samples will be collected as described in the <br /> following section. <br /> 7.4 CQNFIRMATION SAMPLIN <br /> Once all the impacted soil has been removed from the excavation, confirmation samples will be <br /> collected One sample is proposed from the bottom of the excavation, and two sidewall samples <br /> are proposed as confirmation samples. The bottom sample will be collected from the center of <br /> the excavation, while the sidewall samples will be collected from the east and west sidewalls of <br /> the excavation The soil samples will be analyzed for TPH-G (EPA Method 8015 modified) and <br /> BTEX (EPA Method 8020) To minimize potential problems associated with the open <br /> excavation, confirmation samples will be analyzed on a 24 hour turn around time The results <br /> of the confirmation samples will identify if all petroleum impacted soil has been removed from <br /> beneath the former UST, or if additional excavation is necessary <br /> 7.5 (EXCAVATION BACKFILL <br /> After establishing that no additional excavation is necessary, the excavation will be backfilled <br /> with clean fill material The material will be backfilled and compacted to ensure that no <br /> additional settling will occur The excavation will be resurfaced with appropriate baserock and <br /> asphalt surface <br /> 8.0 FINAL REPORT <br /> Prepare a final report that will summarize all field activities and results for the UST removals. <br /> The report will be presented to the EHD within 30 days of receipt of all analytical data.
