WELL INSTALLATION AND
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING PROGRAM REPORT
THIRD QUARTER 1992
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the methodology and results of groundwater sampling performed at the San
Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement District (SJCMAD) facility located at 200 North Beckman
in Lodi, California This report also serves to notify the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Division (EHD) that a fourth monitoring well was installed on the site and sampled as
part of the third quarter 1992 monitoring effort.
2.0 INSTALLATION OF MW-4
On July 14, 1992, a new groundwater monitoring well was installed on the SJCMAD site. This
well (MW-4) was installed on the site per the requirements of the EHD as stated in a letter dated
February 10, 1992 from EHD to SJCMAD The purpose of this new well was to evaluate the
groundwater conditions on the site in the downgradient portion of the site, as determined by
local groundwater elevation data The well installation was conducted in accordance with the
' ROY F WESTON, INC. (WESTON) work plan entitled "Work Plan, Monitoring Well
Construction and Groundwater Sampling and Analyses" dated April 1, 1992. This work plan
was approved by EHD in a letter to SJCMAD dated April 17, 1992 A detailed description of
the well installation field activities is presented in Appendix A.
3.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING SUMMARY
' Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-4 were sampled on August 25, 1992 Wells MW-2 and
MW-3 were dry and therefore not sampled.
The monitoring effort consisted of two tasks 1) field measurement of physical parameters and
2) the collection and analysis of water samples for specific analytes. One quality control sample
' was also collected The sample (coded MW-44) was collected to evaluate field decontamination
procedures. A detailed description of the field activities is presented in Appendix B
3.1 Physical Parameters Summary
' Field measurement of physical parameters included groundwater elevation, temperature, pH and
electrical conductivity These data are presented in Table 1.
' 3.2 Chemical Analysis Summary
Concurrent with the measurement of the physical parameters, groundwater samples were
collected and analyzed for BTEX and TPH-G. Analytical results indicate all water samples
analyzed were below detection limits for all constituents tested. The quality control sample also
showed no detectable BTEX concentrations The resultant data is summarized in Table 2 and
the complete analytical report is presented in Appendix C
1 av9z
' MS/SICMAD WP
