All
down-hole equipment was either steam cleaned or washed in a solution of non-phosphate
detergent and double rinsed with tap water after each use.
2.6 SOIL BORING ABANDONMENT
iAll soil borings were sealed and abandoned using a neat cement grout. Upon completion
of grouting the surface was repaired to its pre-existing condition.
2.7 WASTE DISPOSAL
The soil cuttings generated during the subsurface soil and groundwater investigation were
contained in two 5-gallon plastic buckets. The buckets were sealed, labeled and stored
on-site for future disposal pending receipt of analytical results.
3.0 INVESTIGATION FINDINGS
Clayton evaluated the data generated during this investigation. Our findings are
summarized in the following subsections.
3.1 SOIL BORING OBSERVATIONS
hi general, soils encountered in the soil borings consisted of up to six inches of concrete
or asphalt underlain by 0.5 to 1.5 feet of base rock gravel fill material. A sandy silt unit
was found below the fill material extending to approximate depths of 3 to 6 feet below
ground surface(bgs). Unconsolidated units of clayey silt, silty sand and/or sand were
found to exist below the sandy silt unit and extended to a maximum depth of 16 feet bgs.
Additionally, pea gravel fill material was encountered in soil borings SB-6 and SB-7 at
approximate depths of 10 to 13 feet bgs. Moist to wet soil conditions were not
encountered during this Phase H ESA. Clayton did not observe any evidence of
contaminated soil (e.g., discoloration, odors) in the seven borings advanced during this
limited investigation. No significant organic vapors were detected in the field with the
' OVA during this investigation. Boring logs for this investigation are presented in
Appendix A.
3.2 SOIL ANALYTICAL RESULTS
A total of 7 soil samples were submitted for chemical analysis. One soil sample was
submitted from each boring for analytical testing as outlined in Section 2.4. Summaries
of the soil analytical results are provided on Table 1. Copies of the analytical laboratory
reports are presented in Appendix B. The following is a summary of the soil analytical
results.
PQ.SAES\PR0lECT5 Wn05628 RE Smi.Company\Phase 11 ESA.d.c 4
