AT
BEECHNUT AVE. ) PREVIOUS GETTY OIL STORAGE AND PUMP
STATION
DISCUSSION
Renown Enterprises is the owner of property at the
southwest corner of Tracy Blvd. and Beechnut Ave . This
property was previously owned by the Getty Oil Company
and was used as a pump station and storage site .
Renown Enterprises has proposed the development of this
property for residential land use, and during
development of plans for this site has .studied the
level of contamination of the soil caused by previous
land uses. Beginning in 1985, Renown Enterprises has
hired consultants to study the extent of soil
contamination and determine acceptable methods for
development of the site .
The evaluation from the State Department of Health
Services of October, 1985 reviewed reports of May, 1985
and concluded that the soil on the site was
"contaminated" but that it could be managed as a non-
hazardous waste material . Disposal of this material
was advised as remaining subject to the requirements of
the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
Further evaluation and development of soil excavation
and disposal plans for review and approval by the
Regional Water Quality Control Board were summarized in
their letter of October , 1986 . At that time , it was
proposed that disposal of the contaminated soil could
be considered at the City of Tracy Corral Hollow
Landfill site . However , further consideration of the
conditions for using the soil material at the Corral
Hollow Landfill site included the impact of water
quality and air quality testing.
