As for the address of the site, I have seen it listed and referred to as 880 Beechnut mainly, which is why I
have used this address. But yes, I have also seen it referred to as 800 W. Beechnut Ave. This has
confused me as well. I will confirm the exact address with Chevron and have updated the attached
workplan to refer to 800 W. Beechnut Avenue.
According to the March 1997 "Data Summary, Renown Property" report by Dames & Moore, wells A, B, C,
and D were destroyed during excavation activities at the site in 1986. Let me know if you'd like me to send
a copy of that report over to you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments.
Thanks,
Mari
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2008 2:42 PM
To: Mari Gilmore
Subject: RE: Well Abandonments in Tracy
I finally got the tirne to review your recent submittals..
I can issue the permits with conditions I'll list on the permit.
I have old field notes and reports that indicate the REW wells are 4" PVC and built at least to 18' bgs. I will
require these wells to be overbored to 18' plus 1 foot (19' bgs)with 10" augers..(Not 8.25" augers and not
only to 18' bgs)
I think found the permit from 1986 for"E" and "F". the application claims total depth at 18'. These PVC
wells are 2" and the 8.25" augers may be used, but must go to 19' bgs also ( add the 1 foot..
if you modify your field work to include these changes I can take your assurances and I will issue the
permits and you can count on doing the work May 28-29th like you noted.
let me know. If not, IT have to write a comment letter and chances are you will have to schedule other,
later dates.
you've been doing this a long time now...have you ever installed 4° casings in an 8.25" auger? I never
have nor allowed it. Real tough to drop sand and bent with less than a half inch between the OD of the
casing and the ID of the augers...
btw: END, the City of Tracy, The SJ County Assessor, and former Renown have all noted this site as"800
W. Beechnut", original APN: 231-530-09 and now lot line adjusted to parcel #234-070-04. There really
is NO 880 Beechnut... the parcel across the street is"990 W. Beechnut"...
these sites have confused me for 19 years now and 880, 900, or 800 and 990 have intermixed since I've
been here. easy to see how you can get confused...
do you know when monitoring wells, A, B, C and D were removed?
Mike Infurna
(209)468-3454
5/9/2008
