Box 6012 <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> WORK PLAN FOR ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION,AND COMMENTS AND CONFIRMATION <br /> OF APPROVAL, SOIL AND GROUNDWATER SAMPLING PLAN, FORMER RENOWN <br /> PROPERTY, 990 BEECHNUT AVENUE, TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> We have reviewed the Work Plan for Additional Investigation (Workplan), Former Renown Property, <br /> 990 Beechnut Avenue, Tracy, San Joaquin County, dated 5 February 2002, submitted by Geomatrix <br /> Consultants, Inc on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company (Chevron). The Workplan <br /> proposes additional soil and groundwater investigations to further characterize the nature and extent of <br /> the petroleum hydrocarbons, and to support a human health risk assessment. The Workplan also <br /> proposes to substitute groundwater sampling for total petroleum hydrocarbons, as crude oil (TPH-c) for <br /> the soil solubility test (distilled water waste extraction test, or DI WET) using centrifuge separation <br /> sampling preparation requested by Regional Board staff. <br /> The Work Plan is hereby approved.
