In this correspondence EHD approved Cambria's December 17, 2004 work plan
with conditions. The following condition for ground water sampling of this new well was, "MW--13
(proposed)ground water samples shall also be analyzed for 1,2-DCA and Acetone, as well as
all core well constituents for at least two consecutive quarters, starting with the first sampling
event after installation." Ground water data for 1,2-DCA and Acetone was included in the Report,
but the oxygenates (DIPE, TAME, ETBE, Methanol) listed under"core"wells was not included.
Additionally, EHD also required the following condition in the work plan approval for MW-13
installation: "Report of findings is to be in the context of a Site Conceptual Model(SCM)
constructed from all available data for the site. Cross sections and lithological
interpretations are to be extended to include MW-13 data." The Report was not in the format of
a SCM and the cross sections and lithological interpretations required by EHD were not included in
the Report.
An updated SCM is due at EHD by July 21 2005. Requirements listed in the EHD January 5, 2005
work plan conditional approval (italicized and bolded above) must be included in the updated SCM.
A ground water sampling event for MW-13 is to be scheduled during June 2005 and the missing
laboratory data not included in the Report is to be obtained during this event and is to be included in
the updated SCM. EHD must be present at this sampling event.
