u
Alex Perez, Shell Oil Company page 2
3011 W. Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton.
The UGT Unit at PHS-EHD will be requested to inspect the UGT system to verify
the integrity of the newly installed system. PHS-EHD recommends that you
notify your maintenance facilities to contact Michael Kith, Senior REHS, at (209)
468-3444 to schedule the appointment required by PHS-EHD for the inspection.
Quarterly reports for UGT sites actively investigating groundwater contamination
are to include a "recommendation" and "conclusion" section in every report.
Discussed in these sections should be the current status and trends of the site
as well as activities that are planned or may be addressed in the near future.
Quarterly reports in the past have not included these sections. PHS-EHD
hereby directs you to include a conclusion and recommendation section in
every quarterly monitoring report.
San Joaquin County Flood Control maps indicate that during Fall 1978, the
deepest depth to groundwater beneath this site was recorded at 20 feet below
the ground surface. In order to delineate the vertical extent of the soil
contamination, soil samples should be analyzed from this depth and deeper if
contamination is noted during the drilling. All soil and groundwater samples on
and offsite are to be analyzed for TPH as Gasoline and Diesel (8015m), BTEX
(8020), and the Oxygenates (8260).
Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 should you have any
questions or wish to discuss the site.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
2 CJ
Michael J.
