This report documents the results of
ground water monitoring and sampling performed on November 17, 1995, by Blaine Tech
Services, Inc., of San Jose, California.
During the first quarter of 1996, Shell plans to remove and replace the three existing steel,
single-wall underground fuel storage tanks (USTs). Samples will be collected and analyzed
during this activity to determine if petroleum hydrocarbons have impacted soil, or pose a threat
to ground water, in the area of the existing USTs.
In a letter dated November 30, 1995, the PHS/EHD expressed interest in the low levels
of contamination which had been present in monitoring well MW-3. Historically ground water
flow beneath the site has been in a north-easterly direction. This puts MW-3 approximately 15
feet downgradient of the existing UST basin. Although MW-3 has historically indicated
concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), during the November 1995
sampling event laboratory analysis did not detect TPHg in samples collected from MW-3.
Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes have not been detected above the practical
9347-9046-4gnvcovrAr
A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world
