Benjamin Holt Dr.
Stockton CA 95207
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has received
correspondence dated December 31, 1992 from Aegis Environmental, Inc. and has the following
comments.
PHS/EHD does not concur with your findings that the site qualifies for closure. A satisfactory
investigation has not been completed around the existing underground tank (UST) pit area. The closest
boring/monitoring well was placed approximately 30 feet from the tank pit. Confirmed gradient or
water sample results are not available since the monitoring wells were destroyed after only one
measurement and sample collection. PHS/EHD requires a subsurface investigation workplan that
accurately investigates the soil and groundwater at this site. The previously investigated proposed tank
area evidenced soil contamination. This area needs to be included in the investigation. Include in your
soil and groundwater analysis EPA tests for Total and Soluble Lead and Ethylene dibromide (EDB).
You are hereby directed to submit a workplan or"Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report" with
a proposal to investigate subsurface conditions in the soil and groundwater at this site within 45 days of
the date of this letter to PHS/EHD.
Failure to comply with PHS/EHD directives may affect eligibility for "Underground Storage Tank Cleanup
Fund" reimbursement.
Please contact Michael Infuma, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3454.
JogiKhannaM-90.
P.H.
Health Officer
a 'e A.
