CAM B R I A
For the quarterly sampling event occurring this month we will implement the sampling and
analytical changes requested by SJCEHD. We will plan to do the annual event during the third
quarter 2005. We would appreciate SJCEHD review the recommended changes to the sampling
and analytical program we have discussed above.
WORK PLAN
Technical Rationale for Proposed Scope of Work
© • SJCEHD is requiring an additional monitoring well be installed northwest of well
MW-5.
• Groundwater flow direction beneath this site is consistently to the north.
• Cambria proposes to drill and install one groundwater monitoring wells northwest of
well MW-5, as shown on Figure 2.
Work Tasks
Permits: Cambria will obtain a drilling permit from SJCEHD and inform the adjacent property
owner, for which we already have an access agreement in place, that we will be installing another
well on the property.
Site Safety Plan: Cambria will prepare a Site Safety Plan for fieldwork.
Utility Clearance: Cambria will mark the proposed drilling location and will clear the location
through Underground Service Alert prior to drilling.
Site Investigation: One groundwater monitoring well (MW-13) is proposed at the location
shown on Figure 2. The well boring will be drilled to approximately 10 feet below first
encountered groundwater using hollow-stem auger drilling equipment and will be converted to a
groundwater monitoring well.
A Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling and will describe encountered soils from the well
boring using the Unified Soil Classification System and Munsell Soil Color Charts. Soil samples
from the well boring will be collected at 5-foot intervals for soil description, possible chemical
1015 3
