Mary Meays
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton,CA 95201
Re:_ _ Chevron Station#9-4275 2905 West Benjamin Holt Drive Stockton CA
I
Attached groundwater monitoring report(Alton, 1/18/93)
i
Dear Ms. Meays:
Attached is a report dated January 18, 1993, which was prepared by Chevron's consultant, Alton
Geoscience (Alton), to describe groundwater monitoring performed at the subject site on December
10, 1992.
The groundwater gradient direction and the levels of dissolved hydrocarbons were consistent with
data collected at previous groundwater monitoring events. Alton will monitor the site again next
quarter.
As discussed in our telephone conversation on January 13, 1993, Chevron will provide to San
'Joaquin County Public Health Services a workplan for the installation of a monitoring well
downgradient of MW-6 by March 15, 1993. Installation will be tentatively scheduled on, or
before, April 15; 1993. Upon review of the well installation report Chevron will then submit a
Problem Assessment Report by June 30, 1993. It was also agreed upon in our conversation that
monitoring well MW-4 would serve as the northerly crossgradient defining point.
I apologize for not obtaining third quarter 19929roundwater monitoring data. The first quarter
1993 groundwater monitoring event is scheduled for the month of February. At that .time
Chevron's consultant will be sampling the City of Stockton Municipal Well #10 and analyzing for
TPHGas/BTEX constituents. A quarterly sampling.schedule will be implemented for this well
concurrent with regular site groundwater monitoring events. All future groundwater monitoring
reports will contain information regarding the disposition of monitoring well purge water.
I
If you have any questions or comments, I can be reached at(510)-842-8695.
Sincerely,
