Box 2009
Stockton CA 95201
CHEVRON SERVICE STATION,' 2905 BENJAMIN HOLT DRIVE, STOCKTON, SITE
INVESTIGATION REPORT
We have reviewed the investigation report for this site, dated 13 April 1989,
prepared by Western Geologic Resources, .Inc. The investigation included
installation and sampling of five ground water monitoring wells. Hydrocarbon
contamination was detected in soil and ground water with the most significant
levels of contamination occurring in the southern part of the site. Chevron
proposes-to,c-ondduct-qu-arterl,yry-moni tori-ng-and--conti nued, invest:i gat:i on-, of-thi s.
site. -
At this `'time it is not possible to determine whether the contaminants have
migrated from the site. Additional investigation .will be necessary prior to
developing a remedial action plan.
Chevron should coordinate their future work at the site with activities
conducted by Arco for their service station located on the south side of
Benjamin Holt Drive. To be able to compare the data from the two sites, it is
important that all the wells be sampled and analyzed in a uniform manner.
Coordinating the ground water sampling program for these, two sites will
provide the information necessary .to gain a better understanding of the
distribution of contaminants.
If you should have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731.
THOMAS D.
