PUBLICNOTICE .���CITY OF STOCKTON <br /> BENJAMIN HOLT DRIVE INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AT 1-5 <br /> AND <br /> HAMMER LANE INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AT 1-5 <br /> Notice is herewith given that the City of Stockton and California Department of <br /> Transportation (Caltrans) will hold a public meeting on the proposed Hammer Lane and <br /> Benjamin Holt Drive at 1-5 interchange improvement projects. The purpose of the meeting <br /> is to provide information on the proposed interchange improvement projects and to take <br /> public comment on the Proposed Negative Declarations/Initial Studies. Project staff will be <br /> present at the meeting to answer questions. <br /> WHEN: November 6, 1997 (Thursday), 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. <br /> WHERE: Mable Barron Elementary School, Multipurpose Room, 6835 Cumberland <br /> Place, Stockton, California <br /> Project plans, environmental documents and study results are available for the proposed <br /> projects and can be reviewed at the City of Stockton Permit Center, 345 North EI Dorado <br /> Street; Cesar Chavez Central Library, 605 North EI Dorado Street; Margaret Troke Library, <br /> 502 West Benjamin Holt Drive; or at Caltrans, 1976 East Charter Way. <br /> Pro ect <br /> Location Project <br /> Location <br /> Ban nntn <br /> Mammr lane ` <br /> ` ROE M <br /> MAWa-A- � � Y^'•' O'h <br /> ` I BpnnMbOo <br /> Aw0 1 <br /> Hammer Lane at 1-5 Benjamin Holt Drive at 1-5 <br /> Improvements for Hammer Lane and Benjamin Holt Drive in general include: widening the <br /> street under the 1-5 structure, modifying the existing on and off-ramps, and providing signal <br /> modifications, safety lighting and sign structures to meet Caltrans standard practices at <br /> street and ramp intersections. <br /> An Initial Study (IS7-97) has been prepared for the Benjamin Holt Drive Interchange <br /> Improvement project. An Initial Study (IS6-97) has also been prepared for the Hammer <br /> Lane Interchange Improvement Project. Potential effects on the environment were <br /> identified, and mitigation measures have been incorporated to avoid or mitigate these <br /> impacts. An Environmental Impact Report is not required, pursuant to the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act of 1970 (Division 13 of the Public Resources Code of the State <br /> of California). This environmental review process and Proposed Negative Declaration <br /> filings are pursuant to Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Article 6, Sections 15070 and 15071 <br /> of the California Administrative Code. The Community Development Department, Planning <br /> Division for the City of Stockton prepared, made, declared and published the Benjamin Holt <br /> Drive IS and the Hammer Lane IS on October 20, 1997. The public review period for the <br /> Benjamin Holt Drive IS and Hammer Lane IS ends on November 18, 1997. <br /> A Public Meeting to consider adoption of the Benjamin Holt Drive IS and Hammer Lane IS <br /> will be held by the City Council. This meeting has not yet been scheduled, but will be <br /> noticed separately. For more information about these projects, call Judith Buethe at <br /> 464-4350.
