Irrc ur��{»crier! <br /> January 18, 2000 <br /> Project 077 41672 001 <br /> Mr Brett Hunter <br /> v'� Chevron Products Company <br /> 27 P O Box 6004 <br /> San Ramon, California 95843 <br /> Re Third Quarter 1999 Remedial System Evaluation Report <br /> Chevron Service Station#9-4275 <br /> 2905 West Benjamin Holt Drive <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Hunter <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) has prepared this letter on behalf of <br /> Chevron Products Company (Chevron) to document the performance of the soil vapor <br /> • extraction and air sparging systems operating at the above referenced site (Figures 1 and <br /> 2) Soil vapor extraction(SVE) and air sparging (AS)were initiated at the site by <br /> Geraghty and Miller in September 1997 and April 1997, respectively A brief description <br /> and performance evaluation of the remedial system between June 11, 1999 and <br /> September 2, 1999 are presented below <br /> Soil Vapor Extraction System <br /> The SVE system is comprised of ten SVE wells (VW-1, GM-1 through GM-9), a 5- <br /> horsepower (hp) positive-displacement blower, and a 100 cubic feet per minute (cfin) <br /> catalytic oxidizer The SVE system is operated under Permit No N-3645-1-0 issued by <br /> the San Joaquin County Unified Air Pollution Control District <br /> The SVE system has not been operated at the site since February 1998 due to high <br /> groundwater levels Depth to water in the monitoring wells at the site ranged from <br /> 10 33 to 12 81 feet below ground surface on September 13, 1999 The screened <br /> intervals for SVE wells start at 10 to 13 feet below grade (Figure 2), therefore water <br /> levels are currently too high for the effective operation of the SVE system To date, the <br /> SVE system has extracted approximately 70 pounds of gasoline from the soil and <br /> groundwater beneath the site <br /> 9912/Mmcssl'(rrkl)rit( Srrrrc 1(111 sactarucrtlr, C t 95,517 (916) r61 1,,V) (r110) ,61-11691r1 A rtrrrt uu,rcr,"I <br />
