QPCOR <br /> International Incorporated <br /> May 20, 2002 <br /> Project 77CH 43529 00 0170 �qr UU t/ D <br /> Ms Lon Duncanz��? <br /> San Joaquin <br /> Weber Street, 3`d Floor til Health Division <br /> 304 East T/SER���S TH <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re 2001 Cone Penetrometer Assessment and Municipal Well Sampling Report <br /> Chevron Station #94275 <br /> 2905 W Benjamin Holt Drive <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron), presents this report describing the results of off-site groundwater assessment and <br /> municipal well sampling at the above-referenced Chevron site (Figure 1) The off-site <br /> assessment included advancing five cone penetration test (CPT) bonngs and monthly sampling <br /> of the City of Stockton Municipal Well No 10 <br /> OBJECTIVE <br /> The objective of work performed was to assess the potential mass discharge (Md) of methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether(MtBE) from the Chevron facility into shallow groundwater and the potential <br /> for impact on Municipal Well No 10 <br /> SCOPE <br /> The scope of work proposed to meet this objective was defined in a work plan dated February 23, <br /> 2001 The work plan provided for installing ten cone penetrometer tests (CPTs) in two transects <br /> between the Chevron facility and the Municipal Well, installation of one sentry well into a <br /> deeper, second water bearing zone, and the installation of approximately three groundwater <br /> extraction wells, as an interim remedial measure, if needed <br /> The San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> conditionally approved the February 2001 work plan in a letter to Chevron dated April 17, 2001 <br /> Comments received from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (SJCPHS-EHD) denied approval to install the sentry well, citing the potential to <br /> compromise the clay aquitard that separates the shallow groundwater with documented MtBE <br /> impacts from deeper, second groundwater drawn by Municipal Well No 10 <br /> 3017 Ktlgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
