r r
n
page 2, 2905-2908 Benjamin Holt Drive
SJC/EHD approves the installation of offsite shallow monitoring well MW-10. SJC/EHD
approves the installation of boring AS-11 to delineate the extent of the 1, 2-dichloroethane
plume. ARCO owned monitoring wells E-8 and E-7 are located in the middle of Plymouth
Drive. These wells are frequently not sampled due to safety issues posed by traffic on
this street. If ARCO prefers not to sample these wells they must submit a work plan to
have them properly destroyed; these wells could be replaced by one shallow well located
on the east side of Plymouth Dr., near proposed boring AS-11.
The 'addendum' portion of this work plan refers to a previously submitted and approved
work plan dated February 18, 2005 submitted by SECOR on behalf of Chevron #9-4275.
All onsite monitoring and remediation wells that belonged to Chevron #9-4275 were
destroyed in May 2005 pending reconstruction of the station. SECOR is proposing in this
addendum to change the construction of the monitoring wells when they are re-installed
from total depth of 30 feet bsg to total depth of 20 feet bsg, with 15 feet of screen interval.
This change is proposed because current depth to groundwater at the site is
approximately 10 feet bsg. SJC/EHD approves this change in the construction of the
replacement monitoring wells.
Please proceed with submittal of a San Joaquin County Well Permit Application and
required $89.00 permit fee for each parcel of land on which drilling will take place. Offsite
borings will also require access agreements and/or City of Stockton revocable and
encroachment permits, copies of which must be submitted to SJC/EHD before drilling
permits can be issued. Implementation of all proposed and approved work must begin no
later than October 3, 2005, and a report of findings must be submitted to SJC/EHD within
60 days following completion of all fieldwork, and must be presented within the context of
a site conceptual model.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
el,le--
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
