10 August 2007 <br /> AGE-NC Project No.06-1481 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> chilled container. <br /> Following soil and ground water sample collection, the probe-boring locations were backfilled to <br /> surface grade with Portland cement.Grouting of the borings was witnessed by representatives of the <br /> EHD. <br /> EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> Geoprobe rods were thoroughly cleaned prior to soil probe boring advancement. Prior to sample <br /> collection, Geoprobe soil sampling equipment was thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being <br /> washed with a solution of Alconox. <br /> SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> Soil and ground water samples were transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental <br /> Laboratories(CTEL),a California Department of Health Services-certified laboratory,and analyzed <br /> for the following: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), diesel(diesel),hydraulic oil <br /> (TPH-ho) and motor oil(TPH-mo) in accordance with EPA Method 8015M; and <br /> • Volatile organic compounds,including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX), <br /> and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8260. <br /> hi addition,soil samples 134-10',135-10'and B7-10'were analyzed for CAM 17 Metals in accordance <br /> with EPA Method 601013. <br /> FINDINGS <br /> Utilizing the OVM,organic vapors were detected in soil samples 132-30 at a concentration of 3 parts <br /> per million (ppm), samples 132-35 and 136-15 at a concentration of 1 ppm, and samples 136-20, <br /> 136-25,and B6-35 at a concentration of 2 ppm. Petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors were not noted in <br /> any of the soil samples. <br /> Nine soil samples(132-10,132-30,133-15,134-10,B4-15,135-10,135-20,136-35,and 137-10)and two <br /> grab ground water samples (132-W and 136-W) were submitted to CTEL for analysis for the <br /> chemicals of concern (COC) noted above. <br /> Advanced GeoEnvlronmentel,Inc. <br />
