Not all wells
associated with the site require fecal coliform analysis.
Monitoring wells within 50 feet of sanitary sewer lines are under
special permit requiring fecal coliform testing, because it has
been recognized that these wells could provide a conduit for the
migration of fecal coliform contamination. Enclosed for your
information is a copy of the Policy Statement for Special Well
Permits.
Offsite wells BHD-1, BHD-2 and E-8 are proposed to undergo fecal
coliform analysis January and April 1992. Additional monitoring
wells, those within 50 feet of sanitary sewer lines, may require
fecal coliform analysis after evaluation of the results of the
proposed wells.
If you require further information please contact Mary Meays, REHS,
of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
;nvironmental
alth Officer
ulie A tufla, EHS, Program Manager
Health Division
LAC/MM: lb
c: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB
c: Chuck Carmel, ARCO
c: Steve Misner, Brown and Caldwell
c: Frank Tucker, City of Stockton Municipal Utilities
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
