rQ
Mr. Larry Williams
J=une 29, 1989
Page 2
r'
.' All constituents are below the Wastewater Control Facility's (WCF) maximum allowable
concentrations outlined in the May 11, 1989 WCF Policy.
During the preparation of this report, it was determined that a malfunction of the recovery
system had caused a shutdown of the recovery pump sometime in April 1989.. This
malfunction was not discovered until early June 1989. Because the pump has not been '
operational, there have been no discharges to the sewer system since April 1989. The results
of the monthly sample represent the water that was discharged to the sewer when the recovery
pump was last in operation.
ARCO is now in the process of replacing the recovery pump, concurrent with the
_ =modificat u-ns-tomLthe-`teeoveTy`=system=tobnng=it=into-compliance-with-the-May 1-1 1989;-WGF=-;- ._-
Policy. Until the recovery system is fully operational and in compliance with WCF Policy,
there will be no further discharges to the sewer, and therefore, no monthly sampling. Monthly
sampling will resume when the discharge to .the sewer resumes. We estimate late July or
early August for restart. We will notify your office prior to restart.
If you have any questions or comments regarding these results or the subject site, please
contact me or Ms. Patti De La O at (916) 444-0123.
Very truly yours,
BROWN AND CALDWELL
JLarkry(VEITillips
Project Manager
LEP:PYD:mkw
_ cc:. - Mr. K let Christie,7 ARCO-Products--Company
Ms. Laurie Cotulla, San Joaquin County Local Health District
Mr. Chris Winsor, ARCO Products Company,
JUL/ 1989
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
I
t
BROWN AND CALDWELL
723 S STREET SACRAMENTO,CALIFORNIA 95814-7092 (916)444-0123
