The water samples were collected directly from the discharge valve between <br /> the pump and the separator tank. The sample collected January 24, 1989, was analyzed for <br /> benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylene (BETX) by U.S. Environmental Protection <br /> Agency (EPA) Method 602 and totalpetroleum fuel hydrocarbons (TPH) by EPA Method <br /> 8015, modified (see Table 1). The sample collected February 1, .1989, was analyzed for <br /> trace metals (cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc) by EPA Method 6010, <br /> total toxic organics by EPA Method 625, and BETX and TPH by EPA Method 8015, <br /> modified (Table 2). The sample collected February 15, 1989, was analyzed for BETX and <br /> TPH by EPA Method 8015, modified (Table 3). Volatile hydrocarbons for the February'1 <br /> and 15, 1989, samples were calculated by subtracting the BETX fraction from the TPH <br /> results. <br /> Table 1.
