(SECOR)concerning the above <br /> referenced site and has the following comments. <br /> The letter was written in response to SJC/EHD correspondence dated September 10, 2003. In that <br /> correspondence SJC/EHD requested that ARCO change the sampling analytical method used at this <br /> site to conform with the method used at the Chevron LUFT site across the street, with which ARCO <br /> has filed an application to the State Water Resources Control Board for status as a co-mingled plume. <br /> In the letter, SECOR agreed to the change in sampling method, and further requested a change in the <br /> routine sampling protocol of the monitoring wells at the ARCO site. Specifically, SECOR requested a <br /> reduction from quarterly to semi-annual sampling of wells E-2, E-8, E-11 and E-12; a reduction from <br /> quarterly to annually sampling of wells MW-4 and MW-5; and a reduction from semi-annual to annual <br /> sampling of wells E-7, PR-2, BHD-2, MW-2 and MW-3. The request for this change in sampling <br /> frequency was based on the historical concentration of contaminants in the wells involved, and their <br /> generally up gradient location in relation to the core of the contaminant plume onsite. SJC/EHD <br /> approves the proposed changes to sampling frequencies as outlined in the SECOR letter. <br /> SECOR further stated that application has been made to the City of Stockton Public Works <br /> Department for an encroachment permit to find ARCO well E-8, which was paved over during <br /> roadwork.
