The proposed well would be <br /> installed in the 60-foot-wide open area between the off-ramp and the concrete wall that <br /> defines the western edge of the ARCO Products Company (ARCO) property. Figure 1 shows <br /> the proposed location of the well. <br /> The San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (County), is <br /> requiring that ARCO conduct an investigation of the soil and groundwater_to the west and_ ---- <br /> southwest of the ARCO facility on C­a1ira­n-s`J property. Currently, ARCO has groundwater <br /> monitoring wells located on the western and southern edges of the ARCO property. <br /> The well would be installed using a truck-mounted hollow-stem auger drill rig. The well <br /> would be approximately 30 feet deep and would be completed in a flush-mounted traffic box. <br /> The installation of the well in the Caltrans property will be completed within two days: After <br /> the well is installed, groundwater samples wilLbe collected from the well on a quarterly basis. <br /> Other periodic maintenance on the well may be required.
