An ARCO approved contractor will be responsible for <br /> all construction activities associated with .product line activities. Construction activities <br /> are tentatively scheduled to begin during the week of March 1, 1999. The purpose of <br /> this Work Plan is to notify the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD) of-the upcoming product line upgrade activities and briefly discuss the <br /> compliance soil sampling procedures to be followed. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the intersection of interstate 5 and Benjamin Holt Drive in a <br /> commercial and residential part of Stockton, California. The site is a service station with <br /> an AMIPM-mini-mart that retails gasoline fuel. The site currently contains four gasoline j <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated product lines and dispensers. <br /> Since discovery of a piping leak in 1984, 20 groundwater monitoring wells, 14 soil vapor <br /> extraction wells, and nine air sparge wells have been installed at. the site. A groundwater <br /> extraction system was operated intermittently from 1984 to 1996. In 1995, a SVE/A.S <br /> system was installed at the site. To date the SVE system has removed 3,980 pounds of <br /> TPH-g from the soil and groundwater beneath the site. Currently nine groundwater <br /> monitoring wells are sampled quarterly and another 11 wells are sampled semi-annually. <br /> PROPOSED-SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Product line upgrade activities at the site will be performed by an ARCO-approved <br /> contractor and are scheduled to begin during the week of March 1, 1999.
