The sampling location <br /> is shown on Figure 1. Analytical results are summarized in Table 1. <br /> Or! August 20, 1987, W. F. Lewis Construction, Inc. (W. F. Lewis) <br /> removed one 550-gallon steel •%paste oil tank from the subject site. <br /> r' The tank was emptied of remaining waste oil and purged with dry ice <br /> prior to its removal. W. F. Lewis personnel cleaned and cut the <br /> {M tank on site .on August 20, 1987, after its removal. <br /> The tank was highly corroded and had several small holes in the <br /> bottom and along the seams. Waste oil product odor was noted in the <br /> soil during tank excavation and removal. The City of Stockton Fire <br /> Department, San Joaquin County Local Health District (County) , and <br /> Brown and Caldwell (BC) staff were on site during tank removal. The <br /> t soil generated during waste oil tank excavation and removal was <br /> •:_ s :: g g <br /> stockpiled on site pending sample collection. <br /> On August 20, 1987, BC personnel collected one soil sample (NO-1) <br /> from beneath the :paste oil tank at a depth of 10 feet. The sample <br /> was collected under the direction of County personnpi. } <br /> After the soil sample was collected, the stock_ni.led- soil was used, << <br /> under the direction of County.-� personnel'; to backfill the <br /> excavation. The excavation was ba_.kfilled. pit August 20, 1987. <br /> The soil samples were sub,nitt;a'' to California Department of Health <br /> Service;: certified Eureka.. Laboratoriea, Inc., in Sacramento.
