00 5YV-75
Cheryl Field [EH]
From: Donna Heran [EH]
Sent: Monday, December 19, 2011 11:24 AM
To: Jeff Carruesco [EH]; Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc: Cheryl Field [EH]
Subject: FW: Food Cart
=Yl - a complaint from the EHD website. Please email Mr. Costa with results of complaint investigation.
rhanks,
)onna
-rom: Sam Costa [mailto:samcosta33@yahoo.com]
fent: Saturday, December 17, 2011 11:49 PM
ro: EH-Directors
Subject: Food Cart
ro whom it may concern,
MY child recently purchased a smoothie from the Lalas cart or Ram Shack cart I am unclear of the
lame for some people tell me it is Lalas and the outside says Ram Shack. The cart Located at Saint Mary's High School
)n 5648 N. EI Dorado Street, Stockton, California, 95207. Well he purchased a smoothie from the cart and
immediately an hour later began to feel sick. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years and have run
)utdoor carts as the one in question. This cart in my opinion is a poor quality for a food serving place. The cart itself is
n poor condition and falling apart I do not know how such a cart could pass inspection. The cart has dirt, dust, food
ill over and also the equipment does not look like it has ever been cleaned. The coffee grinder on the cart is missing a
)roper top instead it has a saran wrap on top replacing the covering. Also wrapping of foods for concession stand
;uch as muffins, peanuts and etc., I was under the impression was not allowed that it must be bought prewrapped if
rou don't cook it in a proper kitchen. But of all this I notice the women who works there took the left over hotdogs
wt of the steam pot wrapped them in saran wrap and put them in a refrigerator on the cart for my belief instead of
hrowing away already heat hotdogs that did not sell she's going to same them to sell to students tomorrow. The last
hing is I did not see a health inspector paper on the outside or a tag anywhere in plain view on the cart. I would like if
)ossible someone immediately check this cart run by Saint Mary's High School before other students get sick. This in
ny opinion is an operation that should be close for not being concerned with state health regulations and the
:oncern and welling being of customers and students.
12/19/2011
