Mr Kyle Christie
April 14, 1995
Page 4
collected from wells MW-3 and MW-4 The benzene and TPH-G concentrations in the
sample collected from well MW-5 were 5 1 micrograms per liter (pg/1) and 570 pg/l.
The soil generated during drilling was temporarily stored on site enveloped in plastic sheeting
At the completion of drilling, a sample of the stockpiled soil was collected and submitted to
the laboratory for analysis of BTEX and TPH-G using EPA Method 5030/8020, 8015
Modified, and Soluble Threshold Limit Concentration lead (STLC-lead). The laboratory
results of this sample were forwarded to Dillard Environmental Services The soil was
removed from the site and disposed of in the Browning Ferns Industries (BFI) landfill located
in Livermore, California on March 6, 1995 Appendix J of this report contains the soil
disposal documentation
Conclusions
Analytical results of the soil samples collected during this and previous investigations indicate
that the extent of hydrocarbons has been defined in the soil at ARCO Facility 2133. Based
on the results of this and previous investigations at the site the hydrocarbon affected
groundwater has been defined to the west, south, and east. Hydrocarbons identified in the
groundwater on the north side of the site may be co-mangled with hydrocarbon affected
groundwater from the Chevron facility located across Benjaman Holt Drive to the north.
Monitoring wells MW-3 through MW-5 will be incorporated into the quarterly groundwater
monitoring and sampling program at this site.
If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact me at (916) 44.4-0123.
Sincerely,
BROWN AND CALDWELL
brg
S eve Misner Ja L as
Protect Manager California Registered Geologist#4301
SM:JCL:ksc
Enclosures
cc: Ms. Diane Hinson, San Joaqum County
Mr. Brett Hunter, Chevron
Ms. Elizabeth Thayer, California Regional Water Quality Control Board, CVR
Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restriction specified at the beginning of this
document
195ZREP0RTS\VAELLNSTL.RPT
