CLOSURE PLAN INFORMATION
At a minimum, unless otherwise directed by the San Joaquin Local
Health District, the following procedures will be followed during
the removal of the existing underground storage tanks and ancillary
piping at ARCO Facility No. 6100, located at 25775 Patterson Pass
Road, Tracy, California.
1. Product and vapor lines will be drained into the
tank and disconnected from the tank in a manner
allowing tank openings to be sealed.
2 . All tanks will be rendered inert using dry ice at
a rate of 15 pounds per 1, 000 gallons of tank
capacity 16 hours prior to removal. The tank
removal will not proceed until the atmosphere of the
tank shows 0. 14 LEL.
3 . The tanks will be triple-rinsed prior to removal
off-site. The rinsate will be transported and
manifested as hazardous waste, if required, and the
tanks will be transported to an appropriate disposal
facility.
4 . Two (2) soil samples will be taken from each tank
location, one sample from beneath each end of the
tank at the native soil/backfill interface, and one
sample will be taken from beneath every 20 feet of
piping.
5. Information on the tank and piping, rinsate, and
soil transporters and methods of disposal will be
provided to you once we have a contractor selected
for this job.
6. The disposition of the soil removed from this site
will depend upon the degree of contamination, if
any, of the soil.
MAY 11 1990
FNVIRONMENTAL HEALTF
PERMIT/SERVICES
