mixture of commercial and residential. Figure 1 is a Site Location Map (USGS 7.5- minute topographic map). The area immediately west of the site (across Grigsby Place) is residential. To the northwest (north of W. Benjamin Holt Drive) is a cormercial district that includes a shopping center. immediately north of the site (north of W. Benjamin Holt Drive) is a Shell Oil retail gasoline station. Immediately east of the site is a Seven-Eleven retail store. ,rust east of I-5 are 2 retail gasoline stations: a Chevron station on the northside of W. Benjamin Holt Drive, and a ARCO (AM/FM) station directly south of the Chevron station. Directly southeast of the site is a daycare nursery school. A large, above-ground water tower is directly south of the site, and directly south of the tower is a.residential area. k The closest rivers to the site are: the San Joaquin River (Stockton Deep Water Channel), approximately 2.5 miles to the southwest; the Calaveras River, 2-miles to the south-southeast; the Fourteen-Mile Slough, 0.5-mile to the south and 1.0-mile to the west; and the Five-Mile Slough,0.7-mile to the north-northwest. The closest lakes to the site are: Lake Lincoln, 0.5-mile to the southwest; North Lake, 0.7-mile to the northwest; Grupe Lake, 0.8-mile to the north-northwest; and kI Meadow Lake,0.6-mile to the southeast. The closest schools to the site are: the Tully Knowles School, 0.5-mile to the F southeast; and the Mable Barron School,0.8-mile to the northwest. . The surface topography in the area can be characterized as flat. Topographic contours show the surface sloping to the southwest with a gradient of 0.0016. The USGS topographic map (Figure 1) indicates the site to have a surface elevation of . approximately Sea Level. Based on the proximity of the San Joaquin River, and the direction of the surface slope, the water-table aquifer beneath the site is estimated to have a southwesterly direction of groundwater flow. 2.2 Site-Specific Description a Figure 2 is a Site Plan showing the location of the property with respect to the bounding streets, and to the locations of property structures including the station house, w pump islands, and underground construction such as USTs and vapor lines. There are 4 USTS on the property: • a 1,000 gallon waste oil UST; • a 6,000 gallon gasoline UST; e - a 8,000 gallon gasoline UST; and '�- a 10,000 gallon gasoline UST. The waste oil UST is located approximately 5 feet south of the station Douse/garage (Figure 2). The 3 gasoline USTS are located in the northwest corner of the property and are installed directly adjacent to each other in a lengthwise,NW-SE orientation. i'..
