AWAILAIF <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br /> i <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916) 852-6690 <br /> Fax (916)852-6688 <br /> i <br /> November 6, 1992 <br /> Ms Marla Guensler <br /> Exxon Company, U S A <br /> P O Box 4032 <br /> Concord, California 94524-2032 <br /> Subject Ground-Water Monitoring,Third Quarter 1992, Former Exxon Service Station <br /> No 7-3330, 3128 West Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton, California <br /> Ms Guensler <br /> This report summarizes the results and methods of the third quarter 1992 ground-water <br /> monitoring event performed by RESNA Industries (RESNA) at the subject site (shown on <br /> the Site Vicinity Map, Plate 1) This work was conducted on September 25, 1992, at the <br /> request of Exxon Company, U S A (Exxon) Work included measuring depths to ground <br /> water, subjectively analyzing ground water in monitoring wells MW-3 through MW-6, <br /> purging and sampling ground water from the monitoring wells, analyzing the ground-water <br /> samples for hydrocarbons, and evaluating the ground-water flow direction and gradient at <br /> the site The locations of these monitoring wells and other selected site features are shown <br /> on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate 2) <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> M It is our understanding from a report prepared by Artesian Environmental Consultants <br /> (Artesian) of San Rafael, California, that Exxon operated a service station at the site from <br /> 1968 to 1991 (Artesian, July 27, 1992) In September 1991, as part of Exxon's returning the <br /> lease to the owner, the station was demolished In 1991, ten soil borings were drilled and <br /> ground-water monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-6 were installed in six borings In <br /> October 1991, three single-walled steel underground gasoline-storage tanks were removed <br /> from the northeast corner of the site and one waste-oil tank was removed from the southern <br /> portion of the site We understand the product piping was also removed at that time <br /> According to Artesian, monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 were abandoned on November <br />' 7, 1991 In April and June 1992, approximately 1,300 cubic yards of soil containing <br /> 1012mgue <br /> 32020-1 <br /> 1 <br />
