D093-810 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 ose <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc. (Delta), has prepared this Site Closure Request Report at the <br /> request of Exxon Company, U.S.A. (Exxon), following the evaluation of source removal and subsequent <br /> investigations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water beneath former Exxon Service Station <br /> No. 7-3330, located at 3128 West Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton, California. <br /> The site location and site vicinity are shown in Figures 1 and 2, respectively. Site features are illustrated <br /> in Figure 3. This report presents a summary of investigative work, soil and ground water sampling data <br /> obtained to date, and the rationale for site closure. <br /> ie 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 Site Background and Description <br /> The site is located in northwest Stockton on the southeast corner of Grigsby Place and West Benjamin <br /> Holt Drive, west of Interstate 5 (Figures 1, 2, and 3). Commercial businesses are located north and east <br /> of the site. Residential areas are located south and west. To the northwest is a commercial district that <br /> includes a shopping center. Immediately north of the site is a Shell Oil retail gasoline station. <br /> Immediately east of the site is a Seven-Eleven retail store. Southeast of the site is a day care nursery <br /> school (Lincoln Village Academy). <br /> The former Exxon service station was constructed in 1968 and four single-walled steel construction <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) were installed at that time. The four USTs consisted of one <br /> 1,000-gallon used oil, one 6,000-gallon gasoline, one 8,000-gallon gasoline, and one 10,000-gallon <br /> gasoline. The former USTs and associated product lines were removed in October 1991. The UST <br /> removal activities are discussed in Section 3.5 of this report.
