E_'ECVY'1'AE SUMN ARY
EXCAVATION OF HYDROCARBON IMPACTED SOIL
Weldon Church Property
104 West Beverly Place
Tracy, California
One underground storage tank (UST") was removed from the subject property in 1988.
The tank was used to store gasoline. One soil sample and one groundwater sample were
collected from the tank excavation after removal.
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in both the soil and groundwater samples
collected from the tank excavation. The San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Di,%ision (PHSIEHD) is requiring further investigation of the site
to determine the vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon impacted soil and
groundwater.
Initially, the former UST area will be re-excavated to remove any remaining impacted
soil to a depth of approximately 8 feet. The re-excavation will be performed using a
backhoe; samples will be collected from each sidewall. Since it is anticipated that
groundwater will be encountered during excavation, no soil samples will be collected
from the floor of the excavation. We anticipate removing approximately 100 cubic yards
of hydrocarbon cont4uninated soil.
The soil will be stockpiled adjacent to the excavation. After laboratojv analysis has been
completed, the soil will either be treated on-site or transported and disposed at an
appropriate landfill facility.
For more information, please contact Mr. Ron Rowe of the PHSJI~HD.
d GOLci 9Sr 66G ON 39- V HOd WdV l -V S66 1-6 1-V
