vow
IWO
Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2012 11:02 AM
To: 'bmillman@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: RE: Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System
Good morning Brian.
I met with Nuel Henderson this morning and discussed your proposal to begin injecting RegenOx immediately. I
explained that the tenant at 104 Beverly Place, Tracy, had recently died and the home is currently vacant, making
it easier and omitting the intrusive nature on the occupants, if the pilot test for RegenOx injections was
performed now instead of waiting until the mitigation system has been installed.
Nuel's response was to follow the directive by letter dated 22 November 2011 to install the vapor intrusion
mitigation system first, then perform the pilot test involving RegenOx injections after the vapor intrusion mitigation
system is in operation.
The letter approving the Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System Work Plan, dated 08 February 2012, is being sent
today from our office. This will allow the mitigation system to be installed immediately. Once the system is in
operation, the pilot test for RegenOx injections can be performed.
Please keep me informed on the progress of installing the mitigation system.
Thank you, Brian.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209)468-9852
Fax: (209)468-3433
Email: vmccartne}Ccusicehd.com
From: Brian Millman [mailto:bmillman@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2012 12:02 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System
Vicki,
No problem Vicki.
I heard back from the manufacturer of the Fantech fan proposed to be used in the mitigation
system, they said there is no decibel rating for that type of fan but it is very quiet.
I did not contact Terra-Petra. but after reviewing the plan and design I think one of the reasons
the piping along the eastern wall may be shorter is due to the double vent for the crawl space
located in the northeast corner. I think it was designed to minimize the amount of ambient air
brought in through those vents. I think that is one reason for the shorter piping.
Additionally, I spoke to Virginia Skelton late last week and she informed me that Lisa, her tenant,
passed away that weekend It was a very strange coincidence to say the least.
I would like to discuss the ISCO injections proposed at the site. The November 2011 letter from
3/29/2012
