�— Fantech <br /> Installation Instructions for <br /> Radon Fan Model HP190SL <br /> READ & SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! <br /> Warnings <br /> DO NOT CONNECT POWER SUPPLY UNTIL FAN IS COMPETELY INSTALLED, MAKE SURE ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO THE FAN IS <br /> LOCKED IN "OFF` POSITION. <br /> 1. This unit has rotating parts and safety precautions should be exercised during installation, operation and maintenance. <br /> 2. WARNING:TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,ELECTRIC SHOCK,OR INJURY TO PERSONS,OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING: <br /> a. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have questions, contact the factory. <br /> b. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel and lock the service disconnecting means to prevent power from being <br /> switched on accidentally. When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a <br /> tag, to the service panel. <br /> c. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including <br /> fire-rated construction. <br /> d. Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back <br /> drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's guidelines and safety standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection <br /> Association (NFPA) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the local code authorities. <br /> e. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring or other hidden utilities. <br /> f. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors. <br /> 3.WARNING! Check voltage at the fan to see if it corresponds to the motor nameplate. <br /> 4. For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors. <br /> 5. Do not use this fan with any solid state speed control device. <br /> Installation <br /> The HP190SL is designed for use with 4"schedule 20 or schedule 40 PVC pipe. <br /> Prior to installation, the suction pipe should be terminated at the exterior wall. <br /> The suction pipe should be installed with a slight incline to drain water away from the fan. <br /> The HP190SL has an integrated condensate bypass. A secondary condensate bypass is not required. <br /> INSTALLING THE HP190SL <br /> 1. Position the fan temporarily by inserting the inlet collar into DISCHARGE PIPE <br /> the open end of the suction pipe on the exterior wall. TO HIGH LEVEL <br /> 2. With the fan upright and level, mark the location of the <br /> three mounting holes on the exterior wall. a�.a'a• EXTERIOR WALL <br /> 3.Remove the fan and drill pilot holes or insert wall anchors e °• <br /> (not supplied by Fantech)at the three marked hole locations. ECExIerE COUPLING <br /> 4. Insert the fan again into its final position and secure it <br /> to the wall at the three mounting points using fasteners a ° <br /> (not supplied by Fantech). Do not overtighten fasteners to SUCTION PIPE <br /> prevent excessive deformation of the vibration isolators. <br /> HP190SL FAN--- ;�••a <br /> ••a <br /> 5. Connect the discharge pipe to the fan outlet using a flexible <br /> coupling 156-44 or similar(not supplied by Fantech). The <br /> use of a lubricant such as liquid soap is recommended to fit <br /> the coupling to the fan and pipe. <br /> . a <br /> :'a <br />
